Violent Scuffle Erupts Aboard Intercity Express at Amethi Railway Station, Video Sparks Alarm

A violent clash broke out inside the Banaras–Lucknow Intercity Express at Amethi railway station over boarding issues on Tuesday morning. The fight, captured on video and widely shared on social media, caused panic among passengers and renewed concerns over safety and crowd control on trains.

A routine morning at Amethi railway station descended into chaos when a dispute over boarding the Banaras–Lucknow Intercity Express escalated into a violent confrontation inside one of the train’s coaches. The incident, which unfolded around 8:30 am, disrupted passengers and raised fresh concerns about crowd management and safety on busy passenger trains.

According to accounts from the spot, tensions flared as several young men attempted to board the Intercity Express while it was halted at Amethi station. What began as a verbal argument quickly turned physical inside a packed coach, with punches exchanged amid loud shouting. Passengers were caught off guard as the confined space amplified the disorder, triggering panic and confusion within the compartment.

The disturbance was captured on a mobile phone by a passenger present during the altercation. The footage, now widely circulated on social media, shows scenes of disorder inside the coach, with frightened travelers trying to distance themselves from the clash. The viral video has drawn sharp attention to the incident, prompting widespread reactions from viewers concerned about passenger safety.

In the aftermath of the scuffle, several passengers expressed anger and frustration, questioning the lack of effective intervention to prevent such incidents. The matter is being linked directly to Amethi railway station, where the train was stationary at the time of the fight. While no official statement detailing injuries or arrests has been made public so far, the episode has once again highlighted the challenges faced by rail authorities in managing crowds during peak travel hours.
