Kanpur Dehat Marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities with Large-Scale Support Camp

Kanpur Dehat observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a major support camp attended by ministers Rakesh Sachan and Pratibha Shukla. The event provided artificial limbs and assistive devices to beneficiaries, aiming to enhance accessibility and improve quality of life for persons with disabilities.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Kanpur Dehat hosted a large community outreach camp aimed at improving access to assistive support for individuals with physical challenges. The event drew notable participation from senior Uttar Pradesh ministers Rakesh Sachan and Pratibha Shukla, who underscored the government’s ongoing commitment to inclusive development.

Local MLA Poonam Shankhwar was also present during the programme, which focused on distributing artificial limbs and various assistive devices to beneficiaries. Organisers said the initiative was designed to enhance mobility, independence, and overall quality of life for persons with disabilities across the district.

Officials highlighted that such camps play an important role in bridging accessibility gaps, ensuring that essential medical support and mobility aids reach individuals who may otherwise struggle to secure them. Community members and beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the services offered, noting that the devices would bring tangible improvements to their daily routines.

As the programme concluded, authorities reiterated their commitment to expanding rehabilitation and welfare services, emphasising that sustained support is key to fostering an inclusive, equitable society for all.
