Foreign Tourist Praises Kerala’s Beauty, Calls for Rebranding of India’s Global Image
A foreign tourist praised Kerala’s clean, peaceful beauty and called for rebranding India’s global image. In a viral Instagram video, he highlighted the need to promote destinations beyond Delhi and the Golden Triangle, emphasizing Kerala’s backwaters, houseboats, and exceptional Indian cuisine as his best experience in India.
In a recent instance, a foreign tourist shared a similar experience, expressing deep admiration for Kerala’s beauty and suggesting that India needs rebranding. The video was shared on Instagram by the handle @jack_ofalljourneys, where the tourist highlighted concerns over India’s global perception. He stated, “Unfortunately, India gets a bad image online, but honestly, I think most of these tourists only visit Delhi and the Golden Triangle. There needs to be a serious shift in promoting places that tourists actually love.”
Describing Kerala as clean and peaceful, Heaton emphasized that the best way to explore the southern state is through a houseboat ride in the backwaters. He said, “On the other hand, Kerala is absolutely stunning: clean, peaceful, and incredibly beautiful. Obviously, the best way to truly enjoy Kerala is to explore the backwaters in a traditional houseboat like this. Who wouldn’t love that?”
Highlighting his overall experience, the tourist added, “With vast, high-quality, peaceful, and amazing Indian food, this has been my best experience in India so far.”
The video, again shared on Instagram by @jack_ofalljourneys, reiterated his remarks about India’s online image and the need to shift focus beyond Delhi and the Golden Triangle. His observations underscore the growing importance of promoting lesser-highlighted destinations like Kerala, which continue to leave a lasting impression on international visitors.
