Married Woman Alleges Gang Rape in Rajasthan’s Banswara, Five Suspects Detained
A married woman in Rajasthan’s Banswara district has alleged she was gang raped by nine men after a deliberate motorcycle collision. Police have detained five suspects, conducted medical and forensic examinations, and launched a search for the remaining accused as the investigation continues.
According to the complaint, the woman was traveling with a relative when their two-wheeler was intentionally struck by men riding motorcycles, causing them to fall. The assailants allegedly assaulted the male companion before forcibly taking the woman to an isolated location, where she was raped by multiple men in succession. The woman has stated that nine individuals were involved in the crime.
Police officials said the survivor approached authorities soon after the incident, leading to immediate procedural steps. A medical examination was conducted by a board of doctors, and a forensic science team was deployed to collect evidence from the scene. The case is being investigated by Deputy Superintendent of Police Gopichand Meena, while Additional Superintendent of Police Narpat Singh confirmed that the investigation is being pursued with utmost seriousness.
Law enforcement agencies have detained five accused for questioning and are actively searching for the remaining suspects. Senior officers have assured that all those found responsible will face strict legal consequences under the law.
