Controversial Remarks at Jaipur Gita Mahakumbh Trigger Police Action
Jaipur Police have issued notices to organizers of the Gita Mahakumbh after controversial statements were made at the event, including remarks on sending the Indian Army to neighboring countries and offering incentives linked to population growth. An official investigation is underway.
The controversy emerged during the event when organizers allegedly made public remarks suggesting that India should deploy its armed forces to Pakistan and Bangladesh with the aim of creating a separate nation for Hindus. The statements, delivered from the event’s platform, were seen as highly inflammatory and immediately drew the attention of authorities.
Further compounding the issue, additional claims were reportedly made during the gathering proposing incentives linked to population growth within the Hindu community. According to officials, speakers announced that Hindu men who father more than five children would be awarded a “Sanatan Gaurav Samman.” The remarks also included an assertion that, upon obtaining a government license, such individuals would be provided with a 12-bore firearm—statements that raised serious legal and security concerns.
Following the circulation of these remarks, Jaipur Police issued formal notices to the organizers of the Gita Mahakumbh. Senior officials confirmed that an inquiry has been initiated to examine whether the statements violated laws related to public order, hate speech, or national security. Authorities are currently reviewing video recordings, written complaints, and other available material connected to the event.
Administrative officials emphasized that while religious gatherings are permitted under the law, any speech that threatens communal harmony or promotes unlawful activity will be dealt with strictly. The organizers have been asked to respond to the notices as part of the ongoing investigation.
The incident has reignited debate over the regulation of public discourse at large religious events and the responsibility of organizers to ensure that speeches remain within legal boundaries. As the investigation continues, the case is being closely watched for its broader implications on law enforcement, freedom of expression, and the maintenance of communal peace in Rajasthan.
