Mahindra Gears Up for 2026 with Facelifted XUV 7XO and Scorpio-N
Mahindra plans to refresh its SUV lineup in 2026 with facelifted versions of the XUV700, to be renamed XUV 7XO, and the Scorpio-N. Scheduled for launch in early 2026, both SUVs will retain their petrol and diesel engines while receiving updates to stay competitive.
Over the past 18 months, Mahindra has expanded its range with several high-profile launches, including the all-electric XEV 9e, BE 6 and XEV 9S, as well as updated versions of the Thar and the Thar Roxx. Against this backdrop, 2026 may appear quieter on the surface, but the upcoming updates to the XUV 7XO and Scorpio-N are expected to bring meaningful changes for buyers looking for modernised design and features without departing from proven platforms.
The facelifted Mahindra XUV 7XO is scheduled for launch in January 2026. Expected to be priced between ₹14 lakh and ₹24 lakh (ex-showroom, estimated), the SUV will continue with familiar powertrain options, including a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel unit. While Mahindra has yet to formally disclose the scope of updates, the rebranding and timing indicate a strategic refresh aimed at keeping the model competitive in the premium mid-size SUV segment.
Following closely will be the Mahindra Scorpio-N facelift, which is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2026. The updated Scorpio-N is likely to be positioned in the ₹14 lakh to ₹26 lakh price range (estimated) and will also retain the existing 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options. The model has been a strong performer for Mahindra, and the facelift is expected to build on its rugged appeal while aligning it with evolving customer expectations.
Together, the two launches underline Mahindra’s strategy for 2026: refining successful products rather than expanding the lineup aggressively. By updating its flagship SUVs with timely facelifts, the company aims to sustain momentum, reinforce brand loyalty and remain competitive in one of India’s most dynamic automotive segments.
