2026 MG Hector Facelift Launched at ₹11.99 Lakh, Undercuts Rivals with Sharper Pricing and Tech Upgrades
MG Motor India has launched the 2026 MG Hector facelift with prices starting at ₹11.99 lakh, significantly lower than the outgoing model. The updated Hector Plus 7-seater starts at ₹17.29 lakh, featuring design tweaks, a 14-inch touchscreen and aggressive repositioning in the midsize SUV segment.
The price revision is most notable at the top end of the range, where the fully loaded variant is now ₹1.77 lakh cheaper than before, strengthening MG’s value proposition amid intensifying competition. The facelift brings visual updates as well, including a redesigned front grille and newly styled alloy wheels, lending the SUV a more contemporary road presence without altering its core silhouette.
Inside the cabin, the 2026 Hector continues to focus on technology-led differentiation. The centrepiece is a portrait-oriented 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system that now supports MG’s touch gesture control technology, aimed at improving ease of use and driver interaction. While MG has confirmed prices only for petrol variants at launch, the company has stated that the diesel price range will be announced next year, keeping buyers in that segment waiting.
The updated pricing structure spans multiple trims. The Hector range begins with the Style MT at ₹11.99 lakh, followed by the Select Pro MT at ₹13.99 lakh and the Smart Pro MT at ₹14.99 lakh. The Smart Pro CVT is priced at ₹16.29 lakh, while the Sharp Pro MT comes in at ₹16.79 lakh. Automatic variants climb further, with the Sharp Pro CVT priced at ₹18.09 lakh and the Savvy Pro CVT topping the Hector lineup at ₹18.99 lakh. In the Hector Plus range, the Sharp Pro MT starts at ₹17.29 lakh, the Sharp Pro CVT at ₹18.59 lakh, and the Savvy Pro CVT at ₹19.49 lakh.
In terms of market positioning, the 2026 MG Hector will continue to take on established rivals such as the Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass, while the Hector Plus is set to compete with the upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO, Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari. With sharper pricing, refreshed design elements and a renewed focus on in-cabin technology, MG appears to be recalibrating the Hector’s role in a crowded SUV market, aiming to retain relevance and boost volumes as competition tightens.
