Mother–Daughter Robbed of ₹50,000 During Shopping Trip in Jaipur; Police Launch Hunt Based on CCTV Footage

A mother and daughter were robbed of ₹50,000 during a shopping trip in Jaipur’s Barkat Nagar area. Two motorcycle-borne thieves snatched the cash and escaped within moments. The incident, captured on CCTV, has prompted an active police search based on the footage and a complaint filed at the Bajaj Nagar police station.

A routine shopping visit in Jaipur turned alarming on Tuesday when a mother and daughter were robbed of ₹50,000 in broad daylight near Barkat Nagar. The duo had reportedly stepped out for shopping when the cash they were carrying was snatched by two men who arrived on a motorcycle and fled within seconds.

According to the complaint filed at the Bajaj Nagar police station, the women were holding a bundle of currency notes when the suspects abruptly approached, grabbed the bundle, and sped away before they could react. The victims attempted to stop the assailants but were unable to overpower them.

The entire incident was recorded on a nearby CCTV camera, offering investigators crucial visual evidence. Police officials confirmed that the footage is being closely examined to identify the motorcycle-borne thieves and trace their route after the crime. Teams have been deployed in the surrounding areas to track potential leads and verify any matching profiles.

The robbery has triggered heightened concern among local shoppers and residents, who have urged stronger patrolling in busy commercial pockets. Police said efforts are underway to expedite the investigation, adding that the CCTV trail is expected to play a key role in tracking down the suspects. The incident underscores the need for greater vigilance in urban marketplaces, where quick, opportunistic thefts often go unnoticed until it is too late.
