The incident originated when a group from Bedhna village traveled to Kashichak village, located within the jurisdictional limits of the Deep Nagar police station, to participate in a marriage ceremony. During the festivities, a heated verbal altercation erupted between the wedding guests and local residents regarding dancing. Amidst the escalating tension, several individuals physically assaulted the driver accompanying the wedding party, inflicting a severe head injury. Although guests initially managed to intervene and pacify the driver and his associates, the situation took a lethal turn when the driver suddenly drove his vehicle into an open field.
Witnesses described a terrifying sequence of events as the driver operated the vehicle erratically, circling the grounds three to four times and systematically mowing down those in his path. Five to six individuals were crushed under the wheels during the rampage. Among them was Shankar Paswan, a resident of Lakhisarai district who had been visiting his in-laws in Bedhna village to attend the wedding. Paswan succumbed to his extensive injuries while being rushed to the hospital. Relatives of the deceased have alleged that all parties involved in the violent episode were under the influence of alcohol. Following the fatal assault, the driver fled the scene with the vehicle and remains at large.
