Bisleri International and PCMC Unveil Sustainable Infrastructure Following Massive Plastic Collection Milestone

Bisleri International and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation unveil recycled plastic benches and collection bins following the recovery of 219 metric tonnes of plastic in 2025-26. The Bottles for Change initiative highlights a successful circular economy model, featuring Mayor Ravi Babasaheb Landge and sustainability efforts under the Greener Promise campaign for a sustainable urban ecosystem.

Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd., in a strategic partnership with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), has reached a definitive milestone in environmental stewardship with the unveiling of recycled plastic benches and specialized waste collection bins at the PCMC premises. This significant event serves as a physical manifestation of the Bottles for Change initiative, a flagship programme that has successfully diverted 219 metric tonnes of used plastic from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation during the 2025-26 fiscal year. The ceremony, which marks a critical juncture in the Greener Promise campaign, underscores a corporate and administrative commitment to transforming plastic waste management through systemic collection and advanced recycling processes.

The inauguration was led by Chief Guest Shri Ravi Babasaheb Landge, Mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, alongside Dr Pradip Thengal, Deputy Municipal Commissioner and Head of Health Department for the PCMC. The high-profile assembly included senior officials from the PCMC Solid Waste Management Department and CSR Cell, while Bisleri International was represented by Mr K Ganesh, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs. During the proceedings, Mr K Ganesh emphasized that the collaboration demonstrates a practical avenue for waste management achieved through source-level sensitization, intensive awareness drives, and institutional engagement. He reaffirmed Bisleri’s dedication to forging meaningful partnerships to ensure that standardized waste management becomes a national norm.

Shri Ravi Babasaheb Landge highlighted the potency of corporate-governance synergy, noting that the initiative deflects substantial waste from landfills and establishes a foundation for a circular economy within the city. Echoing this sentiment, Dr Pradip Thengal noted that the Bottles for Change programme is accelerating the transition toward a resource-efficient urban ecosystem by building robust, scalable systems. In a gesture of institutional recognition, the Mayor and Deputy Municipal Commissioner presented certificates to eight educational institutions across Pimpri-Chinchwad, honoring their sustained commitment to plastic waste collection on their respective campuses throughout the year.

The event featured a comprehensive impact presentation revealing that Bisleri’s national network of partnerships with municipalities, institutions, and citizens resulted in 30,309 metric tonnes of plastic waste being collected and recycled in FY 2025–26. This expansion of municipal collaboration reflects Bisleri International’s broader Sustainability 2.0 vision under the Greener Promise banner. With a 54-year legacy and a footprint encompassing 128 operational plants and 6,000 distributors, the makers of Bisleri Mineral Water, Vedica Himalayan Spring Water, and flavored beverages like Pop, Rev, Limonata, and Spyci Jeera continue to integrate sustainability into their core business model. This latest development in Pimpri-Chinchwad serves as a formidable blueprint for community-led recycling and sustainable waste management ecosystems across India.
