Seven TCS Employees Arrested in Nashik Following Allegations of Sexual Harassment and Religious Coercion

Seven TCS employees in Nashik, including an operations head and team leaders, have been arrested following a 40-day undercover operation. The arrests involve serious allegations of sexual harassment, coerced relationships, and religious coercion targeting new hires aged 18-25. While the company has launched an internal review and suspended the staff, the Labour Ministry is now scrutinizing workplace safety.

A coordinated law enforcement intervention in Nashik has culminated in the arrest of seven Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employees, including high-level team leaders and an operations head, following harrowing allegations of workplace misconduct. The legal action follows a series of complaints filed primarily by a cohort of new hires aged 18 to 25, who detailed a systematic environment of sexual harassment and coerced relationships. Beyond allegations of physical and emotional exploitation, the complainants asserted that the accused demands included religious mandates, specifically forcing employees to pray namaz, fast during the month of Ramzan, or consume beef as a prerequisite for securing job-related perks.

The breakthrough in the investigation arrived after a meticulous 40-day undercover operation that successfully exposed a sophisticated network of coordinated targeting orchestrated via internal WhatsApp groups. These digital platforms were allegedly utilized by the senior staff to identify and pressure young subordinates. In response to the findings, TCS has officially suspended the accused individuals, describing the claims as gravely concerning while initiating an extensive internal review to address the breach of corporate ethics.

The judicial and administrative proceedings are currently expanding as the Labour Ministry intensifies its scrutiny regarding workplace safety protocols and corporate compliance. While the families of the accused have publicly denied the allegations of coercion—maintaining that any interactions were consensual relationships—investigators are proceeding with comprehensive forensic checks of digital communications. This investigation marks a significant moment for corporate accountability, highlighting the critical intersection of professional integrity, legal protection for young professionals, and the preservation of personal liberties within the modern Indian workspace.
