Indian Army Bomb Disposal Squad Neutralizes Live Mortar Shell in Jamwa Ramgarh
In a precision operation led by Lieutenant Colonel KG Gautam, the Indian Army’s Bomb Disposal Squad successfully neutralized an 81 MM mortar shell in Papad village, Jamwa Ramgarh. The 3kg explosive, discovered at Nada Ki Talai, was safely disposed of using a DC capacitor in a 6-foot pit, ending a two-year-old threat and bringing immediate relief to the local residents of Jaipur.
The disposal process was executed with precision at Nada Ki Talai, where the live ordnance was safely buried in a five-to-six-foot-deep pit. Leveraging technical expertise and a DC capacitor, the Army specialists successfully disposed of the shell in an operation that lasted approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Official specifications identified the explosive as an 81 MM mortar shell, measuring 11 inches in length and weighing 3 kilograms. Preliminary assessments by the experts suggest the ordnance was approximately two years old. This swift and calculated intervention by the military ensured that a potentially lethal remnant of heavy weaponry was neutralized before it could cause any harm to the civilian population.
