Shivraj Singh Chouhan Calls for Deeper Respect and Empowerment of Women, Sees Divine Strength in Daughters and Sisters

Shivraj Singh Chouhan calls for stronger respect and empowerment of women, saying he sees divine strength, prosperity, and wisdom in daughters and sisters. Speaking in New Delhi, the BJP leader stressed that honoring women is essential for social harmony and India’s national progress.

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday delivered a strong message on women’s dignity and empowerment, describing women as embodiments of divine strength and knowledge, and urging society to uphold their respect as a cornerstone of national progress.

Speaking at a public forum in the national capital, Chouhan invoked the ancient Sanskrit maxim, “Where women are revered, divinity resides,” to underline the cultural and moral foundation of his message. He said he views the women in his life—his sisters and daughters—as living reflections of Goddess Durga’s strength, Goddess Lakshmi’s prosperity, and Goddess Saraswati’s wisdom.

Chouhan emphasized that respect for women should not remain limited to symbolism or rhetoric but must translate into tangible social change. He stressed that ensuring dignity, safety, and equal opportunity for women is essential not only for building stronger families but also for strengthening the nation as a whole. According to him, a society that values and empowers women creates the conditions for sustainable development and collective progress.

Highlighting the broader responsibility of citizens and institutions, the former chief minister called upon people across the country to actively promote women’s contributions in every sphere, including education, governance, and the workforce. He noted that women have consistently played a decisive role in shaping India’s social and cultural fabric, and their continued empowerment is vital for the country’s future.
