Greater Noida Police Crush 1,600 Litres of Illegal Liquor in Major Anti-Smuggling Drive

Greater Noida Police destroyed 1,600 litres of illegal liquor in Surajpur following court orders, dealing a major blow to illicit alcohol smuggling. The operation highlights the police commissionerate’s strict enforcement against unlawful trade and its appeal for public cooperation.

In a decisive crackdown on illicit alcohol trade, the Greater Noida Police Commissionerate carried out a large-scale operation in Surajpur, destroying a massive consignment of illegally procured liquor worth several lakhs of rupees. Acting under a court directive, the police eliminated approximately 1,600 litres of unlawful alcohol, sending a strong signal against organised liquor smuggling in the region.

According to officials, the operation was executed by the Surajpur police station team as part of sustained enforcement measures against narcotics and illegal intoxicants. The seized liquor, accumulated from multiple cases, was taken to a designated site where it was emptied into a deep pit and destroyed using heavy machinery, including a bulldozer, to ensure it could never re-enter the supply chain.

Senior police officers confirmed that the destruction was conducted strictly in compliance with judicial orders and established legal procedures. The method of disposal was chosen to guarantee complete and irreversible elimination of the contraband, preventing any possibility of reuse, resale, or diversion into the black market.

Authorities said the action reflects the police commissionerate’s zero-tolerance approach toward illegal liquor networks, which pose serious risks to public health, law and order, and community safety. Such operations, they added, are part of a broader strategy to dismantle smuggling routes and deter offenders through visible and firm enforcement.
