The T20 Mumbai League has ignited anticipation for its fourth season with a high-profile retention announcement headlined by India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Shivam Dube. As the league prepares for a June 2 commencement, the eight competing franchises have exercised their right to retain up to three players each, ensuring that the city's premier cricketing talent remains at the forefront of the competition.

Triumph Knights Mumbai North East, coached by Atul Ranade, have secured their foundation by retaining the formidable Suryakumar Yadav alongside Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings opening batter Ayush Mhatre. The Knights have also kept allrounder Suryansh Shedge, who is currently integrated with the Punjab Kings' squad in IPL-2026. Mhatre returns to the fold after missing the previous season due to commitments with the India Under-19 team’s camp ahead of their England tour, a stint that followed his successful captaincy of the India U-19 title-winning side.

In a move to fortify their roster, the Andheri Arcs have retained India's hero of the last two T20 World Cups, allrounder Shivam Dube, together with Pragesh Kanpillewar and seamer Deepak Shetty. Meanwhile, the Sobo Mumbai Falcons have ensured the continued leadership of Kings captain Shreyas Iyer, bolstering their lineup by also retaining Kolkata Knight Riders opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Harsh Aghav. North Mumbai Panthers have prioritized youth and spin, keeping India Under-19 World Cup-winning wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu and off-spinning allrounder Tanush Kotian.

The Aakash Tigers have solidified their coreby retaining Chennai Super Kings batter Sarfaraz Khan, left-arm spinner Shams Mulani, and opener Jay Bista. Thane Eagles Strikers have opted for continuity by retaining skipper Shardul Thakur, Atharva Ankolekar, and Sairaj Patil. Defending champions Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals have made the strategic decision to release pacer Tushar Deshpande—who has played two T20Is for India and is currently representing Rajasthan Royals in IPL-2026—while retaining veteran batsman and title-winning captain Siddhesh Lad, along with pacers Rohan Raje and Irfan Umair.
