Patna, August 9, 2025 – In a significant development in the high-profile Chandan Mishra murder case, Bihar Police’s Special Task Force (STF) along with district police teams from Patna, Kolkata, and Bhojpur have successfully apprehended several accused, including the prime suspects, and recovered narcotics during the investigation.

Patna, August 6: In a groundbreaking move, the Bihar Police has initiated basic training for 21,391 newly recruited constables from July 21, 2025 — the largest police training batch in the state’s history. This 9-month training program marks a significant administrative and logistical challenge, which the state government is addressing through several innovative steps.

This year’s recruitment exceeds all previous records, with 10,207 male and 11,176 female recruits, including 8 transgender personnel, selected to serve in the state police. Additionally, 1,060 previously appointed constables who had not yet undergone basic training will also be part of this program, bringing the total to over 22,300 police personnel being trained simultaneously — an unprecedented logistical challenge.
