New Labour Codes Aim to Strengthen Worker Self-Reliance, Says Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav says new labour codes introduced under PM Narendra Modi aim to make workers self-reliant by ensuring financial security, social protection and improved employment-related benefits across sectors.

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh — The Madhya Pradesh government is positioning the newly implemented labour codes as a key instrument for empowering workers and enhancing their long-term security, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Thursday, underscoring the state’s commitment to workforce welfare under national reforms.

Speaking in Bhopal, Yadav said the labour reforms introduced under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are designed to make workers more self-reliant by extending a range of structured benefits. He emphasised that the updated legal framework seeks to modernise labour governance while responding to the evolving needs of India’s workforce.

According to the Chief Minister, the new labour laws focus on ensuring greater financial stability for workers by formalising protections related to wages, employment conditions and workplace benefits. He noted that social security measures form a central pillar of the reforms, with provisions aimed at safeguarding workers against economic uncertainty and supporting them across different stages of employment.

Yadav further highlighted that the reforms also address employment-related facilities, with an emphasis on streamlining systems that connect workers to benefits and protections more efficiently. He said the overarching objective of the government is to empower labourers, strengthen their sense of security and create conditions that allow for an improved quality of life.
