World Public Summit India 2026 Concludes in New Delhi Advancing India’s Role in the Architecture of a Shared Future

The World Public Summit India 2026 concluded in New Delhi with the adoption of the Delhi Declaration. Attended by delegates from 153 countries, the summit advanced India's role in global architecture through discussions on public diplomacy, space cooperation, and economic unity. This professional report covers key insights from dignitaries including Sameep Shastri and Meenakshi Lekhi.

The World Public Summit India 2026 reached its formal conclusion in New Delhi today, following four days of intensive deliberations centered on international cooperation, public diplomacy, and the evolution of global frameworks. Held from 23 to 26 March, the high-level Summit convened a diverse assembly of 153 countries represented by leaders from civil society, academia, the business sector, and international organizations. Under the overarching theme, “New World: India in the Architecture of a Shared Future,” the event commenced with a symbolic Lamp Lighting Ceremony, signaling the start of a program that featured a plenary session alongside specialized discussions on culture, leadership, media, economic cooperation, and roundtables dedicated to youth engagement, women’s participation, and emerging sectors such as space.

The proceedings culminated in the adoption of the Delhi Declaration, a comprehensive document outlining strategic recommendations and collaborative pathways across global regions intended to inform the agenda for the upcoming global summit in Moscow. At the heart of this framework is the Delhi Principle, which asserts that human unity is achieved through a profound respect for civilizational diversity, human dignity, and a shared responsibility for the collective future. Organized by the World Peoples Assembly in cooperation with the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the New Delhi Summit serves as the inaugural event in a series of regional engagements scheduled across the Arab World, Latin America, Africa, and Europe throughout 2026, leading up to the World Public Summit in Moscow later this year.

The Summit featured a distinguished roster of speakers including Mr. Sameep Shastri, Vice Chairman of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who emphasized that as the Global South gains prominence and new alliances emerge, the concept of conscious unity is a necessity that must move beyond dialogue toward meaningful collaboration rooted in collective resilience. Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Former Minister of State for External Affairs of India, underscored the vital role of empathy in modern diplomacy, stating that harmony must arise from within the human consciousness and that platforms like this allow for the honest conversations required to find solutions through understanding different perspectives. Ms. Svetlana Konstantinovna Smirnova, Chairperson of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly, further articulated that the vision of a new world of conscious unity is a buildable future of peace and friendship facilitated by public diplomacy and meaningful dialogue.

Technical and strategic insights were provided by Russian cosmonaut and Hero of the Russian Federation, Oleg Skripochka, who remarked that the fragility of Earth as seen from space necessitates collective action, noting that international space programs prove people of different cultures can achieve shared goals. To mark the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight, Skripochka is set to host educational events, including a roundtable at the Russian House in New Delhi and student interactions. Alexey Bondaruk, CEO of the Moscow Center for International Cooperation, highlighted the strategic momentum between India and Moscow, noting expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and innovation based on mutual trust.

The Summit’s thematic depth was showcased in panel discussions such as the Opening Plenary, “India: Unity in Diversity — the Architecture of a Common Future. Values that Unite,” featuring Svetlana Smirnova, Hélène Perroud, and Himadrish Suwan. Parallel sessions titled “Peace through Culture: Shared Values as the Basis for a Common Future” included Shri Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Member of the Lok Sabha, Anand Raaj Anand, and Sandeep Marwah. Alena Dolgopolova, State-Secretary of the World Peoples Assembly, reinforced that the event demonstrated the power of inclusive platforms in building bridges across nations, while Dalbir Singh, Member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the World Peoples Assembly, President of the Foundation for Policy and Governance, and Chairman of One Globe Forum India, concluded that India’s philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam provides the essential framework for a global cooperation rooted in peaceful coexistence. This landmark gathering reaffirms the role of the World Peoples Assembly as a vital humanitarian union for non-governmental organizations, establishing a foundation of trust and shared values that will resonate through the upcoming regional summits and the final assembly in Moscow.
