First introduced in July 2012, the Renault Duster quickly became a game changer, blending SUV toughness with urban practicality at a time when the segment was still in its infancy. As compact SUVs dominate conversations in today’s Indian automotive market, Renault’s teaser appears carefully crafted to tap into that legacy—much like recent retro-inspired revivals seen from other manufacturers.
The teaser video offers a brief yet telling look at the upcoming model, intentionally keeping most details under wraps. What stands out immediately is the rear profile, which hints at design differences from the internationally sold Duster. A connected taillamp setup is visible, along with modern LED daytime running lights. Observers have also noted the presence of tall roof rails, suggesting a continued focus on rugged appeal.
Beyond the teaser, expectations are already building around the SUV’s overall design and engineering. The new Duster is expected to adopt a boxier and more upright stance than its predecessor, with pronounced body lines and side cladding to enhance its tough, go-anywhere character. Underpinning the vehicle will be Renault’s CMF-B platform, which is set to bring a completely fresh architecture and updated proportions.
Inside, the transformation is likely to be even more significant. The cabin is expected to feature an all-new dashboard layout and a comprehensive technology upgrade.
