Hardoi Administration Reclaims Public Land in Major Anti-Encroachment Drive

The Hardoi district administration has launched a major anti-encroachment operation in Kachhauna, using bulldozers to demolish illegal structures built by land mafias on government property. Following orders from the District Magistrate, the joint police and revenue team reclaimed public land in Bhirighat, reinforcing the state's crackdown on unauthorized construction and land grabbing.

HARDOI: In a decisive move against the unauthorized occupation of public property, the Hardoi district administration executed a high-profile demolition drive in the Kachhauna police jurisdiction on Thursday. Utilizing heavy machinery to dismantle illegal structures, authorities successfully reclaimed a significant parcel of government land in the Bhirighat area, signaling a continued "zero-tolerance" approach toward land mafias and systemic encroachment.

The operation was initiated following a formal complaint lodged by a former village head, who alerted officials to the illicit construction on protected state land. Upon receiving the grievance, the District Magistrate (DM) ordered a comprehensive verification of the site’s revenue records. Once the illegality of the structure was confirmed, a joint task force—comprising revenue officials and a contingent from the Kachhauna police station—was dispatched to the site to oversee the enforcement action.

According to administrative sources, the property had been occupied by local land mafias who had bypassed regulatory approvals to erect permanent structures. The demolition was carried out under tight security to prevent any law-and-order disruptions, as the "bulldozer" action drew a crowd of local onlookers. Officials at the scene emphasized that the drive was not merely a punitive measure but a necessary step to restore public resources for communal use.

This crackdown reflects the broader policy framework currently prevalent across Uttar Pradesh, where the state executive has prioritized the identification and liberation of encroached government territories. By acting swiftly on local intelligence and complaints, the Hardoi administration has sent a clear message to illegal occupants: public land remains under the strict custody of the state, and any attempt to monetize or settle on it through fraudulent means will be met with immediate legal and physical recourse.
