Fatal Hit-and-Run in Amora: Speeding Bolero Rams Auto-Rickshaw, One Dead

A tragic high-speed hit-and-run in Gajraula, Amroha, has left one man dead after a Bolero rammed into an auto-rickshaw near an HP petrol pump. The victim, Jitendra of Bijora, died at the scene. Local police are currently analyzing CCTV footage to track down the fleeing driver and investigate the fatal collision.

A routine stop for fuel turned into a tragedy in Amora’s Gajraula district after a high-speed Bolero collided with an auto-rickshaw, claiming the life of a local resident. The incident occurred on the service road shortly after the auto-rickshaw had finished refueling at a CNG station. The victim, identified as Jitendra, a resident of Bijora, reportedly died on impact due to the severity of the collision. Local authorities arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, but the driver of the Bolero had already fled the area, leaving behind a scene of mangled metal and a grieving community.

The entire sequence of events was captured by the surveillance system of a nearby HP petrol pump. The CCTV footage, which is now central to the police investigation, reportedly shows the Bolero traveling at an excessive speed before crashing into the smaller vehicle. Officers from the Gajraula police station have seized the footage to identify the vehicle’s registration details and trace the movements of the absconding driver. While the body of the deceased has been processed according to legal protocols, the police have launched a multi-team search operation to apprehend the perpetrator.

This fatal encounter underscores the persistent dangers of speeding on service roads, which are often used by smaller vehicles and commuters for local transit. As the investigation continues, the local administration is facing renewed calls to address road safety and enforcement in high-traffic zones. The incident serves as a grim reminder of how quickly negligence on the road can result in the loss of life, leaving the police to piece together the final moments of the crash in hopes of delivering justice to Jitendra’s family.
