Discover the details of his itinerary and the cultural significance of his second visit to the Marwar region in two months.

JODHPUR — Marking his second visit to the Blue City in just two months, former President of India Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Jodhpur alongside his family on Monday to commence a three-day spiritual and personal itinerary. The former head of state was received at the Jodhpur airport with traditional Rajasthani honors, reflecting the cultural warmth of the region. His visit underscores a continued connection with Western Rajasthan, following a previous trip in November where he attended a high-profile ceremony in Kelawa.

Upon his arrival, the former President’s motorcade proceeded to the Taj Hari Mahal on Residency Road, which will serve as his primary residence during this stay. The visit is characterized by a blend of private family time and participation in significant religious festivities. On Wednesday, January 14, the former President is scheduled to travel to Sojat City in the Pali district. He has been invited as a distinguished guest by the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Samiti to participate in the ongoing Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and the Sahastra Chandi Mahayagya—a grand spiritual invocation that has drawn local devotees and scholars alike.

The logistical arrangements for the visit have been coordinated with high-level administrative oversight. During his previous visit on November 20, the former President was greeted by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and senior district officials, highlighting the protocol-driven nature of his movements within the state. After concluding his religious engagements in Sojat, Kovind is expected to return to Jodhpur for an overnight stay before departing for New Delhi via a scheduled flight on Thursday morning.

This recurring presence of the former President in the Marwar region signals the enduring importance of Rajasthan's cultural and spiritual landmarks on the national stage. By participating in the Mahayagya at Sojat, Kovind continues a tradition of engaging with grassroots religious gatherings that define the social fabric of rural Rajasthan. His visit not only brings a spotlight to the local festivities in Pali but also reinforces the stature of these traditional ceremonies through his esteemed presence.
