The confrontation escalated when the joint police team tracked the suspects to the vicinity of the historic Mehtab Bagh. Upon being cornered, the perpetrators reportedly attempted to evade arrest, leading to an exchange of gunfire. In the ensuing shootout, both Bablu and Nitin Chauhan sustained gunshot wounds to their legs. Following the cessation of hostilities, officers immediatey secured the scene and transitioned the injured suspects to a nearby medical facility for treatment under heavy guard. This tactical success follows days of intensive investigation into the Christmas Day heist, during which the suspects allegedly intercepted a trader, physically assaulted him, and fled with his scooter and a substantial quantity of industrial silver.
The recovery efforts yielded significant results, as investigators seized two .315 bore country-made pistols along with a cache of live and spent ammunition from the scene. Furthermore, the authorities successfully recovered approximately 35 kilograms of the stolen silver scrap and the Apache motorcycle used during the commission of the crime. By reclaiming the stolen assets and removing illegal firearms from the streets, the Agra Police have sent a clear message regarding their intolerance for violent predation. This successful resolution not only brings justice to the victimized trader but also restores a sense of order to the city's commercial corridors, underscoring the effectiveness of integrated surveillance and rapid-response tactical units in modern urban policing.
