Car Erupts in Flames on Unnao Road; Bystanders Rescue Two Occupants in Time
A moving car burst into flames in Unnao’s Gangaghat area near the Irani Chai stall, prompting bystanders to rescue two Kanpur residents moments before the vehicle was fully destroyed. Police are examining the cause of the sudden blaze as the incident raises concerns over on-road safety and vehicle maintenance.
According to preliminary information, the car was carrying two men from the Gujaini area of Kanpur Nagar. As smoke began rising from under the hood, the fire intensified within moments, leaving the occupants little time to react. Fortunately, people who were drinking tea at the nearby stall rushed toward the vehicle and managed to pull both individuals out before the fire consumed the car entirely.
Witnesses reported that the blaze spread at an alarming pace, leaving the vehicle completely gutted despite immediate attempts to alert authorities. Local police later reached the spot and began an inspection to determine the cause of the fire. While no injuries were reported, officials noted that the destruction of the vehicle was total.
The incident highlights both the unpredictability of mechanical failures on busy regional roads and the critical role of quick civilian response in preventing casualties. Authorities are expected to conduct further inquiry to rule out electrical malfunction or any other technical fault behind the sudden ignition.
