Uttar Pradesh Allocates ₹25,000 per Government Secondary School to Strengthen Sports Infrastructure

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announces ₹25,000 in assistance for every government secondary school to enhance sports facilities, purchase equipment and promote active student participation. The initiative aims to strengthen sports culture and support youth development across the state.

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a fresh initiative aimed at expanding sports participation across government-run secondary schools, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath confirming that each institution will receive ₹25,000 to bolster sporting activities. The move is part of the state’s broader effort to integrate physical education more meaningfully into the academic environment and encourage students to engage in regular sports.

According to the Chief Minister, the allocated funds are intended to help schools purchase essential sports equipment, upgrade basic facilities and create an atmosphere where students feel motivated to participate in diverse physical disciplines. He emphasised that fostering a strong sports culture is central to the state’s educational vision, ensuring that children have equal opportunities to excel both in the classroom and on the field.

Adityanath added that the initiative reflects the government’s long-term commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting fitness among adolescents. By ensuring that every government secondary school has the infrastructure and resources needed for regular sporting engagement, the administration aims to build a more vibrant, active and competitive sports environment across Uttar Pradesh.

In the larger scheme, the programme highlights the state’s intent to make sports an integral part of school life, offering students a platform to develop discipline, teamwork and excellence that extends beyond academics.
