Navy Chief Says ‘Operation Sindoor’ Still Underway, Highlights Maritime Lead in Joint Forces Drill

India’s Navy Chief announced that Operation Sindoor remains in progress, stressing ongoing tri-service preparedness. Speaking in New Delhi, he highlighted the Navy’s lead role in joint exercise Trishul and the continued development of future military doctrines, reflecting India’s expanding strategic readiness.

India’s naval leadership signaled continued military vigilance on Monday as Navy Chief Admiral R. Hari Kumar (as per the draft, Admiral D. K. Tripathi) stated that Operation Sindoor remains active and that the country’s tri-service preparedness is progressing in a coordinated manner. Speaking at a press briefing in New Delhi, the Admiral underscored the Indian Navy’s expanding strategic role as the armed forces deepen operational synergy across domains.

Addressing reporters, Admiral Tripathi emphasized that the joint military exercise Trishul served as a key platform for integrated combat readiness, with the Navy taking the lead in several operational segments. He noted that the drill reflected a significant degree of interoperability among the Army, Navy, and Air Force—an essential requirement given the evolving regional security environment.

The Navy Chief further explained that work on future doctrines is ongoing, aimed at refining the armed forces’ long-term strategy, enhancing maritime response capability, and strengthening coordinated action during complex missions. The progress under Operation Sindoor, he added, demonstrates India’s resolve to maintain a high state of alert and preparedness across all strategic theatres.

As India continues to calibrate its defence outlook, the Admiral’s remarks underscore a broader shift toward integrated operations and forward-looking strategic planning. The ongoing efforts highlight the country’s commitment to bolstering joint-force capability and ensuring that the Navy remains a central pillar in safeguarding national security interests.
