Shivraj Singh Chouhan Hails ‘Lakhpati Didis’ as Symbols of India’s Rising Women’s Power at Delhi Event

Shivraj Singh Chouhan honoured India’s “Lakhpati Didis” at a New Delhi event, praising their hard work, skill and determination. Women from 25 states attended, reflecting the nationwide rise of female entrepreneurship and empowerment. Chouhan said their achievements symbolize India’s expanding women-led economic progress.

At a packed gathering in New Delhi, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid a heartfelt tribute to the country’s self-made “Lakhpati Didis,” describing them as living proof of India’s growing reservoir of women’s strength and enterprise. Addressing participants from across the nation, Chouhan said the women had demonstrated through sheer effort, skill and determination that they are not only capable of transforming their own lives but also contributing to the country’s larger development story.

Chouhan noted that delegates from 25 states had travelled to the capital to attend the programme, underscoring the nationwide momentum behind the initiative. Welcoming the women with warmth, he said their journey embodies the resilience and ambition of India’s emerging female workforce—women who have leveraged opportunity and hard work to build sustainable livelihoods and inspire others around them.

He emphasised that their achievements represent more than individual success; they reflect a broader shift in India’s social and economic landscape, where women’s leadership is increasingly becoming a catalyst for community progress. He added that these “Lakhpati Didis” stand as a testament to what can be accomplished when empowerment, training and determination converge.

As the event drew to a close, Chouhan reaffirmed that the accomplishments of these women mark an important chapter in the nation’s ongoing pursuit of inclusive growth. Their rise, he said, is a powerful reminder that when women thrive, the nation moves forward with greater strength and confidence.
