Harasser Publicly Thrashed by Students in Mahoba; Video Sparks Online Outrage

A youth in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, was publicly beaten by a group of students after repeatedly harassing them with lewd remarks and obscene messages. The incident, captured on video in Shaktinagar Colony and now viral online, has sparked calls for strong police action and renewed debate on women’s safety in public spaces.

A group of young women in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, took matters into their own hands after repeatedly facing harassment from a local youth, confronting him in the middle of the street and beating him with kicks, punches and slippers. A video of the incident, recorded in the Shaktinagar Colony area under City Kotwali police limits, has since spread widely across social media, drawing strong reactions.

According to information from the locality, the youth had allegedly been harassing several students on their way to and from coaching classes. The students reported that he would make lewd remarks and send obscene and abusive messages to their mobile phones. Despite the ongoing misconduct, the behavior persisted, prompting the students to respond collectively.

On the day of the incident, the group reportedly caught the youth on the road and confronted him directly. As seen in the viral footage, the students delivered a forceful beating before bystanders intervened. The confrontation unfolded in full public view, underscoring growing frustration over persistent harassment faced by young women in the area.

Local residents have begun urging authorities to take strict action, noting that the incident reflects broader concerns about safety in public spaces. Police are expected to review the matter based on the video and statements from those present.
