CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Patna Up Ramp of Kacchi Dargah–Bidupur Six-Lane Ganga Bridge Project
Patna, August 23, 2025 Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the Patna Up Ramp of the Kacchi Dargah–Bidupur Six-Lane Ganga Bridge Project by cutting the ribbon at Didarganj. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the newly constructed ramp and received detailed information from officials about its connectivity and benefits.
During the inspection, the CM directed officials to ensure that the service roads are also properly maintained, so that traffic flow remains smooth and vehicles can move without obstruction.
A Key Connectivity Link
The newly built ramp serves as a crucial link road, starting from the terminal point of the JP Ganga Path at Didarganj and connecting directly to the new six-lane Ganga Bridge. With this, vehicles coming from Patna city will be able to reach the bridge directly, easing traffic congestion within the city and reducing travel time significantly.
Project Cost – ₹44 Crore
Constructed at a cost of around ₹44 crore, the ramp is an important part of the larger six-lane Ganga Bridge project. Earlier, on June 23, 2025, the Chief Minister had inaugurated the Patna–Raghopur section of the bridge and instructed officials to complete the up ramp at the earliest. With the construction now complete, the facility has been opened for public use.
Leaders and Officials Present
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bihar Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, former MLA Satish Kumar, Principal Secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar, Road Construction Department Secretary Sandeep Pudkalakatti, CM’s Secretary Kumar Ravi, Special Officer Gopal Singh, Commissioner of Patna Division Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Managing Director of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Tirsat Kapil Ashok, District Magistrate Dr. Tyagarajan S.M., and SSP Kartikeya K. Sharma, along with several other senior officials.
A Milestone for Bihar’s Road Network
The Kacchi Dargah–Bidupur Six-Lane Ganga Bridge Project is considered a game-changer for Bihar’s road connectivity. By providing a direct link from Patna city to the new bridge, the project is expected to ease the heavy burden of traffic within the city, improve regional connectivity, and contribute significantly to the state’s economic growth.
