Bihar’s 10 Panchayat Leaders to Attend Independence Day Ceremony at Red Fort as Special Guests

Patna, August 14 Ten panchayat leaders from Bihar, known for their exemplary work in cleanliness, environmental protection, and public welfare initiatives, will be special guests at the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort this year. The central government selected these panchayats based on their outstanding performance across various parameters. On Wednesday, the selected representatives departed for the national capital.

The distinguished invitees include Suman Nath Thakur from Jajuar Madhya Panchayat, Katra block, Muzaffarpur; Kumari Tripti from Parthu Panchayat, Ekangarsarai, Nalanda; Nibha Kumari from Panhara Panchayat, Makhdumpur, Jehanabad; Prema Devi from Motipur Panchayat, Rosera, Samastipur; Ravi Kumar from Kurkuri Panchayat, Phulwarisharif, Patna; Virendra Kumar Singh from Tumba Panchayat, Rohtas; Manju Devi from Khurhan Panchayat, Alamnagar, Madhepura; Kanti Devi from Koran Sarai Panchayat, Dumraon, Buxar; Ramji Sharma from Sanda Panchayat, Tekari, Gaya; and Pooja Kumari from Garari Panchayat, Konch, Gaya.

These panchayats have implemented impactful initiatives such as accelerating the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, promoting biogas usage, water conservation, producing compost from organic waste, and protecting the environment, alongside effectively executing key government schemes. The active participation of women leaders has been particularly noteworthy, as they have driven improvements in infrastructure, promoted inclusive growth, and strengthened community engagement.

Among their notable achievements are the successful implementation of flagship programs like Har Ghar Jal, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin, and Mission Indradhanush. They have also introduced local innovations and fostered community participation to bring sustainable change to their villages.
