Bihar Takes a Digital Leap: 4,616 NGOs and 1,774 Firms Registered Online in 9 Years
Patna, August 12. Bihar has made significant progress in digital governance by achieving remarkable success in its online registration system. Since the launch of the process in 2016, the state has registered 4,616 NGOs and 1,774 firms entirely through the online platform. This registration is facilitated via the official website of the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department — nibandhan.bihar.gov.in — ensuring a smooth, transparent, and paperless process.
Fee Structure
The registration fees vary according to the category:

National-level organization: ₹25,500

Bihar-level organization: ₹15,500

Firm registration: ₹1,500
All fees are paid online, saving both time and effort for applicants.
NGO Registration Process
Applicants must fill in details such as the organization’s name, address, district, and information about its office bearers and members in the online application form.

If any discrepancies are found, the application is returned for correction.

Upon approval, the Inspector General of Registration issues the registration certificate, which applicants can download using their login ID and password.
This is a completely paperless and faceless process, eliminating the need for applicants to visit any government office in person.
