Bevon Jacobs has been named as Ravindra's replacement in the New Zealand squad. The 24-year-old has played 11 T20 matches and scored 183 runs in nine innings, including one half-century. In his most recent T20 appearance, against Bangladesh on May 2, 2026, Jacobs scored an unbeaten 62 off 31 balls while batting in the middle order and was named Player of the Match.
A place in the playing XI against India would give Jacobs an important opportunity to establish himself in the New Zealand team.
New Zealand have included seven fast bowlers in their squad for the T20 series. The pace options are Adam Milne, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes and Nathan Smith. Milne has taken 65 wickets in T20 internationals and last played a T20I for New Zealand in July last year.
The T20 series between New Zealand and India will begin on October 22. India will then play a five-match ODI series in New Zealand, beginning on November 4, followed by a two-match Test series starting on November 19.

The first T20 will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on October 22, 2026, at 12:30 pm IST. The second T20 will also be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on October 24 at 12:30 pm IST. The third T20 will take place at Sky Stadium in Wellington on October 27 at 12:30 pm IST.
The fourth T20 is scheduled at Eden Park in Auckland on October 30 at 12:30 pm IST, while the fifth and final T20 will be played at Seddon Park in Hamilton on November 1 at 12:30 pm IST.
