Sunita appeared on the third season of ‘Why Not With MNL’, where she participated in a rapid-fire session. During the segment, she was asked which of Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Harshvardhan Rane she would choose for a ‘one-night stand’. Without taking a moment to think, Sunita immediately chose ‘King Khan’.
While revealing that Shah Rukh Khan has been her old crush, Sunita said, “No matter what you ask me, Shah Rukh Khan will always be my first choice.” Her quick response has since become a topic of discussion on social media.
Sunita’s admiration for Shah Rukh Khan is not new. In an earlier interview with ‘Instant Bollywood’, she had spoken openly about love and marital relationships. She said that the foundation of any relationship rests on “trust, love and children”.
While describing possessiveness as an inseparable part of love, Sunita referred to Shah Rukh Khan’s 1993 film ‘Darr’. She said, “I like that kind of love... like the way Shah Rukh Khan showed it in ‘Darr’. That madness in love. I am very possessive about my husband and children; I cannot share them with anyone. If there is not even a little possessiveness in a relationship, then it is no longer love and remains only a compromise.”
Sunita Ahuja has also explained why she chose to prioritise her family over pursuing a career in acting after marriage. According to her, her mother wanted her to become a good homemaker. Her mother had also prioritised her own family and wanted Sunita to get married, have children and take care of her home.
According to Sunita, her mother had asked her what she would actually achieve by becoming an actress. Sunita took her mother’s words seriously and chose to focus on her married life and raising her children instead of pursuing a career in the film industry.
Sunita said that she has now been married for 38 years. In her account, the decision that changed the direction of her career ultimately became a significant part of her life.
