India Reiterates Concern Over Escalating Violence in Bangladesh

India has expressed renewed concern over ongoing violence in Bangladesh, with MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stating that New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and has conveyed its apprehensions to Dhaka. The statement reflects India’s focus on regional stability as unrest continues across Bangladesh.

India has once again voiced unease over the continuing wave of violence in Bangladesh, signalling New Delhi’s growing attention to developments unfolding in its eastern neighbour. The renewed concern came on Thursday as the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that it is closely tracking the situation across the border.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India is “monitoring the situation in Bangladesh very carefully” and has already conveyed its concerns through appropriate diplomatic channels. While he did not elaborate on the nature of the ongoing unrest, his remarks reflect New Delhi’s heightened sensitivity to the instability affecting a country with which it shares deep historical, economic and strategic ties.

Jaiswal emphasised that India remains engaged with its counterpart authorities in Dhaka, underscoring the importance of stability and public safety amid reports of continued clashes and disruptions. His statement comes at a time when the region is witnessing unease over the persistence of violent incidents, prompting India to publicly acknowledge its apprehensions for the second time in recent days.

India’s reiteration of concern signals the broader significance of developments in Bangladesh for regional security and cross-border relations. As the situation evolves, New Delhi is expected to maintain close diplomatic coordination while monitoring potential implications for bilateral cooperation and border stability.
