Shashikant Senthil Slams Centre for “Total Failure” Amid Escalating Aviation Crisis

Congress leader Shashikant Senthil sharply criticised the central government for failing to act amid India’s worsening aviation crisis, accusing authorities of negligence as passengers face widespread disruptions. His remarks highlight rising political pressure for urgent intervention and accountability.

As India’s aviation sector grapples with widespread disruptions, Congress leader Shashikant Senthil has sharply criticised the central government for what he described as an alarming absence of action while passengers across the country struggle with mounting uncertainty.

Senthil said the situation—marked by large-scale flight delays, cancellations and operational instability—demands urgent intervention. Instead, he argued, the government has displayed indifference at a time when decisive leadership is critical. According to him, millions of travellers have been left stranded or inconvenienced, yet no meaningful steps have been taken to address the crisis or communicate a clear recovery plan.

Calling the government’s response “negligible and insensitive,” Senthil accused authorities of failing to recognise the seriousness of the emergency. “When people are in distress, the government remains inactive. This is a complete failure on its part,” he said, taking aim at what he characterised as a lack of accountability and preparedness.

His remarks come as pressure builds on the aviation ministry and related regulatory bodies to clarify the causes of the ongoing disruptions and outline concrete measures to stabilise operations. Industry observers note that prolonged inaction could further erode public trust and inflict deeper economic strain on one of India’s most crucial transport sectors.
