Two Suspects Arrested in Silver Plate Theft From Shut Factory in Amroha

A joint police, SOG, and surveillance team in Amroha’s Bachhraiyu area arrested two suspects accused of stealing silver-metal plates from a closed factory. Authorities recovered stolen items, cash, and two vehicles, while several accomplices remain on the run as the investigation expands.

In a coordinated operation that unfolded in Amroha’s Bachhraiyu area of Uttar Pradesh, local police, the Special Operations Group (SOG), and the surveillance unit arrested two men accused of stealing silver-plated metal from a shuttered manufacturing facility. The suspects, identified as Saleemuddin and Hafeez, were taken into custody after investigators traced their alleged involvement in the break-in at the abandoned plant.

According to officials, the joint team recovered five white-metal plates believed to have been stolen from the premises, along with cash and two vehicles reportedly used in the theft. Authorities said the arrests mark a significant breakthrough in an ongoing investigation into a group suspected of targeting closed industrial units in the region.

Police further confirmed that several other members of the alleged theft ring remain at large. Efforts are underway to track down the remaining suspects, with officers indicating that more arrests are expected as the probe widens. The operation, they added, underscores a renewed focus on curbing crimes involving dormant or temporarily shut commercial facilities.

The incident has drawn attention to the security vulnerabilities of non-operational factories in semi-urban belts, prompting officials to reiterate the need for reinforced surveillance and safeguards. As the search for the absconding suspects continues, the case highlights the broader challenge of protecting idle industrial assets from organized theft networks.
