CM Inaugurates Development Projects Worth ₹1024.77 Crore in Patna
Chief Minister today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects worth ₹1024.77 crore under the announcements made during the Pragati Yatra in Patna district. These projects, focused on the Patna Urban (Central) region, aim to enhance infrastructure, public amenities, education, and tourism.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “It is a matter of great satisfaction that the announcements made during the Pragati Yatra are now being implemented. These projects will bring major benefits to the people of Patna and improve civic facilities significantly.”
Four-Lane Road and Underground Drainage
From Patel Golambar, the CM unveiled the foundation stone of a ₹196.80 crore project to construct a four-lane road with underground drainage from Patel Golambar to Eco Park (west) and from Eco Park (east) to Atal Path. He stated that the project would greatly ease movement towards the Secretariat, Airport, and Capital Vatika, while also enhancing the city’s aesthetics.
Modernization of Power Infrastructure
At Dakbungla Chowk, the CM launched a ₹328.52 crore project for undergrounding power cables as part of modernization and strengthening of Patna’s power infrastructure. A short film on the project was screened, and route plans were presented by the Energy Department. The CM also symbolically handed over certificates to two beneficiaries of the “zero electricity bill” scheme.
Renovation of Hostels
From Patna Science College’s Newton Hostel, the CM inaugurated a ₹30.02 crore project for renovation, modernization, and strengthening of hostels in universities and colleges across Patna. Recalling his student days at Newton Hostel, he said, “This place holds special memories for me. The renovation of hostels will provide students with a better environment for both living and learning.”
Patna Haat and Connectivity Roads
The CM also laid the foundation of Patna Haat near Gandhi Maidan at a cost of ₹48.96 crore, and a ₹52.28 crore connectivity road linking the four-lane road under construction at Mandiri Nala with the JP Ganga Path.
JP Ganga Path Integrated Park
Highlighting tourism and urban beautification, the CM inaugurated the ₹387.40 crore ‘JP Ganga Path Integrated Park Project (Phase 1)’ covering 7 km between Digha and Gandhi Maidan. In addition, a ₹12.38 crore promenade from Sabhyata Dwar to Collectorate Ghat will also be developed.He remarked that the Ganga Path has already boosted tourism and social activities, and once completed, the new green zones will further enrich the city’s environment and lifestyle.
Pragati Yatra: Progress and New Approvals
During the Pragati Yatra conducted between December 2024 and early 2025, the CM visited all districts to review development works. Following this, the state government approved 430 new schemes worth ₹50,000 crore. For Patna district, 32 announcements were made on February 21, 2025, out of which several projects are already underway.
Dignitaries Present
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, Energy and Planning Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin, senior secretaries, university officials, students, and a large number of citizens were present at the ceremonies.
