In his post, Ankit Mohan wrote, “Jai Shivray friends. First of all, I am deeply grateful to all of you for the love and blessings you have showered on me throughout my entire journey. All this was possible only because you have always sincerely appreciated my work and given me immense love and encouragement.”
He further wrote that although he is not Marathi, the audience accepted him wholeheartedly and lovingly as a Mavala of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He described this as a great privilege for him and added, “For me, work is worship.”
Addressing the allegations about his absence, Ankit wrote that if he was not present somewhere, the only reason behind it was his pre-scheduled work commitments. He said that everyone has the right to know the truth from his side and stated that he would soon present his side of the story before the audience.
However, Ankit requested that no negative issues be discussed on the special occasion of the Deoghar on Rent premiere. He also clarified that his response was never a PR strategy. He concluded by wishing the film well and expressing his desire for it to achieve great success, ending the post with “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vijay Aso!”
The controversy began after the team of Deoghar on Rent spoke to ABP Majha about their experience with the actor. They said that an actor is important to a film, but the producer also puts in significant effort. According to the team, the shooting of the film was completed in a very friendly atmosphere, but they had not expected Ankit Mohan to behave with them in this manner.
The team said that when Swapna Sir called Ankit, the actor blocked him. They claimed that the entire team made several attempts to contact him, but he did not receive calls from anyone. The producer said that this situation caused her concern because, as a producer, she had also invested funds in the film.
The team also spoke about the film’s promotional activities. They said that every artist has a fan base and that they had therefore decided that all the actors should be present for the film’s promotion. Their marketing team had planned the promotional activities, but even at that stage, the team claimed that Ankit did not answer their calls.
The producer said she then thought that Ankit might answer her call as a producer and called him herself. She said that she called twice, but both calls were cut. She subsequently received a message from him asking her to contact his manager.
The producer said she replied that she did not have the manager’s number and asked Ankit to share it. She also told him to call her whenever he was free. According to her, Ankit replied, “I am busy, don’t call me.”
Another member of the film’s team subsequently claimed that Ankit was not actually busy. According to the team member, Ankit had earlier worked on an album song and had attended all its promotional activities. However, the team alleged that he did not attend the promotions for Deoghar on Rent.
Ankit’s latest social media post has now put his response on record, while the allegations made by the Deoghar on Rent team and his statement present two different accounts of the circumstances surrounding his absence from the film’s promotional activities.
