CCTV Footage Exposes Shocking Negligence in Meerut; Outpost In-Charge and Two Personnel Suspended

According to officials, the outpost in-charge allegedly ordered the body to be placed in a cycle rickshaw and transported out of the area instead of initiating standard legal procedures. The corpse was subsequently abandoned in the Lohia Nagar police station jurisdiction, an act captured clearly on surrounding CCTV cameras. The footage, now central to the investigation, confirmed not only the movement of the rickshaw but also the involvement of the police personnel responsible for relocating the body.

The video verification prompted the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to issue immediate disciplinary action. The outpost in-charge, along with a constable and a home guard, has been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty and mishandling of a sensitive case. Recognizing the gravity of the matter, the SSP has ordered a comprehensive inquiry.

The investigation has been assigned to the SP City, who will examine the full sequence of events, assess individual roles, and submit a detailed report. Authorities have emphasized that procedural lapses involving unidentified bodies not only violate protocol but also compromise potential evidence and dignity of the deceased.
