Mission Shakti 5.0: Yogi govt launches special campaign for girls’ safety in UP
The workshops taught self-defense techniques, emergency response, helpline usage, and cybersecurity awareness. In schools, experts guided students on ensuring personal safety in social and personal situations. Girls and women actively participated, gaining confidence and a positive attitude toward safety in their families and communities.
Officials emphasized that women should not remain silent in adverse situations but take steps to protect themselves and utilize available government and social assistance. The campaign also educated participants on how to access government schemes and social support to enhance self-reliance.
Leena Johri, Principal Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, said the initiative is as important as education for girls, aiming to create a safe and inclusive environment while empowering women with self-defense skills and awareness. She noted that Mission Shakti 5.0 has taken women’s empowerment to new heights, turning safety, dignity, and self-respect into a mass movement across Uttar Pradesh.
