Fake Order Claiming Termination of 3,295 Contract Employees Goes Viral, Department Denies
Patna, September 5:
A fake order purportedly issued in the name of the Director of the Directorate of Land Records and Survey, under the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, went viral on Friday, claiming that 3,295 contract employees who returned from a strike had been terminated. The fraudulent document circulating on social media even displayed the signature of Director J. Priyadarshini.
The department has categorically denied the authenticity of the document, stating that no such action has been taken. All contract employees who returned from the strike are actively working on public welfare initiatives, including the Revenue Mega Campaign, the department clarified.
Tampering with Official Social Media Posts
The department further stated that on Thursday, misinformation was spread by tampering with an official social media post, adding false details. Authorities described the incident as serious, noting that the fabricated document was designed to mislead contract employees and the general public.
Department’s Appeal and Warning
The Revenue and Land Reforms Department urged citizens and employees to rely solely on information available on the official website and verified social media platforms of the department. A stern warning was issued, stating that individuals involved in creating fake documents and spreading rumors will be identified and subjected to strict action.
This incident highlights the growing threat of fake news and misinformation on social media, which not only confuses employees but also attempts to undermine public trust in departmental processes.
