Former JDU leader RCP Singh joins Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj party
RCP Singh, former national president of the Janata Dal (United) and former Union minister, has joined Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party. Around seven months ago, Singh had launched his own political outfit named 'Aap Sabki Awaz'. He also announced the merger of this party with Jan Suraaj.
Welcoming Singh to his party, Prashant Kishor, said, "RCP Singh is like an elder brother to me and is one of the best people who understand Bihar’s society and politics."
Speaking at the ceremony, Singh said that both of them would work together to make Bihar a developed state.
Meanwhile, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav commented, "Both were in JDU, one was the national vice president and the other the national president. The people of Bihar know who is behind this and how it is happening."
All about RCP Singh
A former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, RCP Singh had served as the principal secretary to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for an extended period. In 2010 Singh opted for voluntary retirement and joined Kumar's JD(U), which paved the way for him to serve two consecutive terms in the Rajya Sabha. Following differences with Nitish Kumar, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2023.
Later, the bureaucrat-turned-politician launched his own party in November 2024.
