Delhi Cabinet clears new law to regulate school fees amid complaints of arbitrary hikes: CM Rekha Gupta
Until now, there were no definitive rules to fix the fees of private schools in Delhi, nor any legislation to control fee hikes. This decision has brought relief to parents throughout the city, as it aims to put an end to the arbitrary fee increases imposed by private schools.
While announcing about this decision, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, "I am thrilled to share that the Delhi Government has made a historic and courageous decision. The Cabinet has today passed the draft Bill, which will establish comprehensive guidelines and procedures for fees across all 1,677 schools in Delhi, including aided, non-aided, and private institutions. This marks the first time in history that the Delhi Government is drafting such a Bill, which aims to be foolproof."
