₹75 Lakh Illegal Cannabis Crop Unearthed in Pratapgarh, Over 151 Kg of Plants Seized in Major Police Crackdown
Pratapgarh Police, under the direction of Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, seized 151.075 kg of illegally cultivated cannabis plants worth approximately ₹75.50 lakh during Operation Trinetra. The crop was found hidden among chilli, sugarcane and grass in Shivpuri Mandat Fala village, leading to a case under the NDPS Act.
Acting under the direction of Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, the Kesariyawad Police Station carried out a significant operation as part of Operation Trinetra. The action was conducted in Shivpuri Mandat Fala village following a tip-off received from an informant regarding the cultivation of prohibited narcotic plants.
During the raid, the police team discovered cannabis plants being cultivated in an agricultural field belonging to Raya Meena. The illegal crop had been strategically grown among chilli plants, sugarcane and dense grass in an apparent attempt to conceal its presence from authorities.
A thorough search of the field resulted in the recovery of a large number of green cannabis plants containing leaves and seeds. Police personnel uprooted the plants at the site and conducted an official weighing process. The total quantity of cannabis seized during the operation was recorded at 151 kilograms and 75 grams.
According to police officials, the estimated market value of the seized illegal cannabis crop is approximately ₹75.50 lakh. The entire consignment was confiscated as evidence.
Following the seizure, police registered a case under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The operation highlights the continuing efforts of law enforcement agencies to identify and eliminate illegal narcotics cultivation in rural areas, dealing a significant blow to unlawful drug-related activities in the region.
