Fire Breaks Out at Firecracker Factory; Three Feared Dead, Several Critically Injured
A devastating fire erupted at a firecracker factory in the Khonagorian Police Station area, leaving three people feared dead and several critically injured. Fire brigade and Civil Defence teams launched rescue operations as District Collector Sandesh Nayak visited the site. Victims with 80–90 percent burn injuries are undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital.
Fire brigade personnel and Civil Defence teams rushed to the site and are engaged in firefighting and rescue efforts. Senior police and administrative officials are present at the location, monitoring the situation and coordinating emergency measures.
District Collector Sandesh Nayak reached the incident site to assess the situation firsthand. Meanwhile, three severely injured victims were brought to SMS Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Hospital authorities said the injured patients were shifted from the emergency department to the burn ward after arrival. The victims sustained critical burn injuries, with burns covering approximately 80 to 90 percent of their bodies. Treatment has commenced under the close supervision of medical specialists.
The incident has prompted an extensive response from emergency services as authorities continue rescue and relief operations at the factory. The severity of the burns suffered by the injured and the reported fatalities underscore the devastating impact of the fire.
