Chennai Plastic Surgery conducted a two-day international workshop on advanced gynecomastia chest sculpting, uniting surgeons from Asia and Australia. The workshop featured a distinguished gathering where, in a notable visual segment, Dr. Karthik Ramasamy and Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Venkat Ramakrishnan, Senior Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Apollo Hospitals Chennai and Chennai Breast Center, were seen together. The program was led by Dr. Karthik Ramasamy, a well-known Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon from Chennai, who guided participants through advanced clinical and surgical training in gynecomastia management across all grades.
The academic curriculum included comprehensive instruction on patient evaluation, gynecomastia grading, surgical planning, liposuction-assisted chest sculpting, gland excision, puffy nipple correction, skin tightening procedures, scar minimization, and advanced male chest contouring techniques. The training emphasized achieving a natural masculine chest aesthetic while maintaining high standards of patient safety, surgical precision, and optimal clinical outcomes.
The faculty panel included Dr. Venkatraman, Dr. Sivakumar, Dr. Sasi Kumar Muthu, Dr. TNS, Dr. M.D. Nishar, Dr. Preethy, and members of the Chennai Plastic Surgery team. He emphasized that Chennai Plastic Surgery continues to advance gynecomastia surgery, chest sculpting, male chest contouring, and body contouring through live surgical demonstrations and evidence-based learning designed to strengthen surgical decision-making and improve outcomes.
A key highlight of the program was live surgical demonstrations involving gynecomastia correction procedures performed on patients with varying grades of the condition. Participants observed real-time operative planning, surgical execution, and management of complex cases, followed by interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions.
The workshop also highlighted technology integration in modern aesthetic surgery with contributions from Mr. Ramamoorthy Sundaram, Managing Director of Spectra, and Mr. Prabakaran, Technical Director of Spectra. They demonstrated advanced energy-based devices used in aesthetic and surgical procedures, focusing on clinical applications, safety protocols, and innovations that enhance precision and treatment outcomes.
Dedicated sessions on plastic surgery practice building addressed patient communication, ethical marketing, digital branding, online presence, practice management, reputation development, and consistent clinical outcomes. These discussions provided guidance for young surgeons aiming to establish and expand successful practices in plastic and aesthetic surgery.
The program also explored the future of plastic surgery training in India, highlighting the growing importance of structured fellowships, cadaver-based workshops, simulation training, international collaboration, and exposure to high-volume surgical practice. Experts noted that modern plastic surgery education in India is increasingly aligned with global standards.
