Ramaiah Academy Foundation and Dassault Systemes Announce Deep Science Translational Innovation Complex in Bengaluru to Bridge Academia–Industry Gap
Ramaiah Academy Foundation and Dassault Systemes have launched a Deep Science Translational Innovation Complex in Bengaluru to bridge academic research and industrial manufacturing. The initiative integrates advanced simulation, prototyping, and commercialization to accelerate innovation across aerospace, healthcare, automotive, and semiconductor sectors in India.
A formal Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged between Venkatesh Valluri, Vice Chairman of the Ramaiah Academy Foundation, and Deepak N. G., Managing Director for India at Dassault Systemes, marking the launch of a model described as a first-of-its-kind in the region. The initiative moves beyond traditional academic partnerships, positioning itself as a fully integrated, go-to-market commercial collaboration.
The partnership leverages Dassault Systemes’ globally recognized 3DEXPERIENCE platform alongside the Ramaiah Academy Foundation’s expertise in deep science research and advanced prototyping infrastructure. The combined ecosystem is intended to support companies in strengthening conceptual research and innovation, enhancing engineering skill development for emerging projects, and enabling access to new talent pipelines.
Speaking on the collaboration, Venkatesh Valluri, Vice Chairman of the Ramaiah Academy Foundation, said the initiative represents a paradigm shift in academia–industry engagement in India. He stated that the collaboration moves beyond transactional skill development into a structured technology translation engine.
Valluri further explained that the Deep Science Translational Innovation Complex will provide an end-to-end value chain ranging from problem definition and virtual twin simulation to physical lab-scale manufacturing. He added that the joint vision is to enable national-level projects aligned with the “Make in India” framework while equipping industry partners and engineering talent with advanced global technological tools.
Deepak N. G., Managing Director for India at Dassault Systemes, stated that the future of industrial innovation depends on empowering the next generation of engineers and thinkers within the virtual environment. He noted that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to bridging academia and industry through platform-driven learning and fostering sustainable innovation and advanced engineering excellence to strengthen India’s high-tech and manufacturing ecosystems.
The Deep Science Translational Innovation Complex, currently undergoing advanced modifications on the Ramaiah campus in Bengaluru, will include state-of-the-art technical teaching centers, collaborative design environments, and lab-scale manufacturing zones.
The Ramaiah Academy Foundation, a Section 8 not-for-profit organization within the Gokula Education Foundation (Medical) ecosystem, continues the legacy of the Ramaiah Group. The foundation is focused on applied sciences, innovation-led education, and industry collaboration to create pathways that connect research, technology, entrepreneurship, and industrial growth.
Central to its vision is the establishment of a world-class Translational Innovation Complex aimed at addressing the Technology Readiness Level gap. The facility is designed to enable the transition of technologies from proof-of-concept and prototype stages to scalable industrial manufacturing, bridging academia, research institutions, startups, industry partners, and investors.
The complex will offer integrated capabilities for advanced research, product development, prototyping, testing, validation, and commercialization. It is expected to foster collaboration among scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders, enabling breakthrough ideas to be converted into market-ready solutions.
The foundation also emphasized its commitment to developing industry-ready talent through specialized education, skill development programs, and experiential learning initiatives aligned with global industry standards. Its multidisciplinary approach spans advanced materials, life sciences, healthcare technologies, artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductor technologies, and sustainable energy systems.
Through strategic partnerships with academic institutions, research bodies, government agencies, and global industry leaders, the Ramaiah Academy Foundation aims to build a robust innovation ecosystem that drives technological advancement and economic development.
The collaboration between the Ramaiah Academy Foundation and Dassault Systemes is positioned as a significant step toward strengthening India’s deep-tech innovation landscape by integrating academic research with industrial application at scale.
