In a major breakthrough against organized crime, the Gonda police, in a joint operation with the Special Operations Group (SOG), successfully apprehended a notorious criminal following a violent confrontation late Tuesday night. Daulat Khan, a fugitive carrying a ₹25,000 bounty on his head, was neutralized after a brief but intense exchange of fire with law enforcement. The encounter, which took place within the jurisdiction of the City Police, marks a significant victory for local authorities as they continue their crackdown on high-profile offenders in Uttar Pradesh.

The operation was initiated following specific intelligence regarding Khan’s movements in the area. When intercepted by the joint task force, the suspect reportedly attempted to evade arrest, leading to a pursuit that culminated in a shootout. During the crossfire, Khan sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. He was immediately taken into custody and transported to the district hospital, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment under heavy police guard.

Khan’s arrest is considered a major success for the district administration, given his extensive criminal history. He was officially wanted in connection with seven separate criminal cases, ranging from serious felonies to organized crime activities. Upon his capture, police recovered a motorcycle used in the escape attempt and a significant cash sum of ₹40,000. These items have been seized as part of the ongoing investigation into his broader criminal network.

This successful neutralisation underscores the heightened vigilance of the Uttar Pradesh police in their "zero-tolerance" approach toward fugitive elements. By dismantling the operations of wanted criminals like Khan, authorities are sending a clear message regarding the restoration of law and order in the region. The Gonda police have confirmed that further interrogations will proceed once the suspect is declared medically fit, as they look to uncover potential links to other criminal syndicates operating across state lines.
