Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to India’s first CDS, General Bipin Rawat, calling his legacy a national responsibility to remember. Speaking in Lucknow, he hailed Rawat’s leadership, courage, and transformative contributions to the Indian Army, while honouring the dedication of all serving soldiers.

 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday paid homage to India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, underscoring that honouring the memory of the decorated military commander is a responsibility shared by every citizen. Speaking in Lucknow, Adityanath reflected on Gen. Rawat’s enduring impact on India’s defence preparedness, describing him as a soldier whose commitment and vision reshaped the nation’s military stature.

The Chief Minister noted that Gen. Rawat’s leadership marked a transformative era for the Indian Army, elevating its operational strength and strategic confidence. “His contribution can never be forgotten,” Adityanath said, stressing that the late CDS played a pivotal role in reinforcing India’s security framework and guiding the armed forces through complex challenges. He added that Rawat’s life embodied an unwavering sense of duty, becoming a source of inspiration for countless Indians.

Adityanath also highlighted Gen. Rawat’s courage and decisive command during critical moments, observing that his leadership continued to resonate deeply within the armed forces and among the public. He urged citizens to draw motivation from Rawat’s service-driven life and to carry forward the spirit of national responsibility that the former CDS exemplified.
