UP: Groom Disappears On Wedding Night After Bride Asks For Bulb Change, Found After 5 Days; Here's What Happened
Mohsin, the groom, had tied the knot in UP's Muzaffarnagar five days ago. On the night of the wedding, after entering the room where his bride awaited him, he was reportedly put off by the lights being too bright. According to a report from India Today, the bride requested that he change the bulb for a softer one. Mohsin stepped out to do so and apparently he did not return.
Throughout the night, both the bride and Mohsin's family waited for him to return, but he never did. CCTV footage later revealed him near the Ganga canal, prompting the authorities to send in PAC divers to search the waters.
The following morning, the situation grew more distressing as Mohsin’s two sisters were due to be married. With no sign of their brother, and panic growing, both weddings proceeded without him. Relatives described the shift in atmosphere from celebration to concern, as no one could understand why Mohsin had disappeared.
On Monday, a breakthrough came when Mohsin called a relative and informed them that he was in Haridwar. The family promptly contacted the police, and a team, accompanied by relatives, travelled to Haridwar where he was found safe and brought back.
The family had been in turmoil for days, fearing the worst especially after CCTV footage had suggested he might have fallen into the canal. His safe return brought relief, putting an end to the anxiety that had plagued the family since the wedding night. The police have since handed Mohsin back to his family.
